BASF Ultrafuse PLA Tough Naturally is a high-performance 3D printing filament based on polylactic acid (PLA), specially developed by Forward AM for applications requiring higher toughness than standard PLA. With a diameter of 2.85 mm and a weight of 8 g, this filament is ideal for precise prototypes and functional parts. The material offers excellent printability with low shrinkage and a pleasant, natural odor. Recommended print settings range between 190 and 220 °C for nozzle temperature and 50-60 °C for heated bed temperature, ensuring good adhesion and detailed results. Key strengths include improved impact resistance and stiffness compared to conventional PLA, making it versatile for various uses. Suitable applications include functional prototypes, enclosures, toys, and mechanical parts that require some load-bearing capacity. However, note that PLA Tough is not suitable for extremely heat-resistant applications, as the glass transition temperature is around 55 °C. Overall, BASF Ultrafuse PLA Tough Naturally is an excellent choice for users seeking a balance between ease of use and enhanced mechanical performance.
