Kimya's ABS carbon filament is a 3D printed material that is ideal for creating functional components that are subject to extraordinary stress. ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadien-Styrene Copolymer) is one of the most widely used plastics in the world. This filament has been additionally reinforced with carbon fibres and can therefore produce significantly better properties than comparable standard ABS filaments. The French manufacturer Kimya is part of the Armor Group, an industrial group with decades of experience in specialty chemicals. This material has been reinforced with carbon fibers to reduce warping, which often occurs when using standard ABS. In addition, the mechanical properties of ABS can be improved by adding enzymatic carbon fibers. Finally, parts printed with ABS carbon are lighter and less fragile than those printed with conventional ABS.
