Kimya’s ABS-S 3D printing filament is part of the French manufacturer’s standard filament range. ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer) is a widely used plastic commonly found in the packaging industry and in everyday objects. Compared to PLA, ABS offers several advantages. ABS is more heat-resistant and impact-resistant. The material is generally tough and does not break as quickly or easily as, for example, PLA (polylactic acid). With a heat resistance of approximately 90°C, the material is suitable, for example, for components left in a car on hot summer days. ABS is one of the standard materials frequently used by hobbyists as well. Kimya ABS-S is suitable for all applications where standard PLA does not offer sufficient properties. ABS is often used to print components such as brackets, edge guards, or handles. Additionally, the material is widely used in the packaging industry or, for example, for bread boxes. The popular building blocks and children’s toys are also made of ABS in most cases.

Key Features

  • Enhanced impact resistance and toughness (ABS-S grade)
  • High thermal resistance suitable for functional parts
  • Reduced shrinkage for better dimensional stability
  • Ideal for technical prototypes and automotive applications
  • Compatible with most FFF/FDM 3D printers
