Prusament PC Space Grade Black is a high-performance 3D printing filament based on polycarbonate (PC), originally developed for aerospace applications. This material is distinguished by exceptional mechanical strength, high heat resistance, and a glossy black finish. Thanks to its enhanced toughness and thermal stability, it is ideal for functional parts that must withstand extreme conditions. Printing requires a high nozzle temperature of 270–295 °C and a heated bed of 110–130 °C to minimize warping. An enclosure is strongly recommended, as PC is sensitive to drafts. The optimal layer height is between 0.1 and 0.2 mm at a print speed of 30–60 mm/s. Applications include robust enclosures, mechanical parts, mounting elements, and industrial prototypes. Strengths include high resistance to heat and chemicals, as well as excellent impact resistance. Limitations include the more challenging handling, as PC requires careful adjustment of print parameters and is not recommended for beginners.
