Prusament PVB in Dark Blue is a premium 3D printing filament distinguished by its unique properties. PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) is primarily known for its excellent solubility in isopropyl alcohol, making this filament ideal for applications requiring a smooth surface finish. The material is similar to PETG in terms of toughness and flexibility but offers the added benefit of chemical post-processing. By soaking in isopropyl alcohol, layer lines can be almost entirely removed, resulting in a professional, glossy finish. Prusament PVB also impresses with its high transparency and color stability. The recommended printing temperature ranges between 220 °C and 240 °C, while the heated bed should be set to 50 °C to 75 °C. An enclosed chamber is not strictly necessary but can help prevent warping on larger models. This filament is particularly suitable for decorative objects, translucent prints, or prototypes where aesthetics are paramount. It is important to note that PVB is hygroscopic and should be thoroughly dried before printing to achieve optimal results.
