Flexfill TPU 98A "Luminous Green"

Flexfill TPU 98A 'Luminous Green' by Fillamentum is a premium Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) distinguished by its Shore hardness of 98A and a fascinating glow-in-the-dark effect. This filament combines the excellent elastic properties of TPU with a visual effect that glows in the dark after absorbing light. The material is highly resistant to abrasion, oils, and solvents, while still offering high tear strength and toughness. It is flexible yet easy to process without being excessively rubbery, making it ideal for functional prints requiring durability and flexibility. For printing, a nozzle temperature between 210 °C and 230 °C is recommended. A heated print bed should be set to temperatures between 30 °C and 50 °C. As with most TPU materials, it is advisable to print slowly (print speed 15-30 mm/s) to avoid stringing and clogs. A direct-drive extruder is beneficial, though it can work with a Bowden system if carefully tuned. Suitable applications include shock-absorbing elements, flexible joints, protective cases, toys, keychains, and decorative parts intended to glow in the dark. Strengths include high resistance, the glow-in-the-dark function, and good mechanical load-bearing capacity. Limitations exist with very complex geometries featuring overhangs that require support structures, as well as the necessity for slower printing speeds compared to rigid materials like PLA or PETG.
