POLYLIGHT 1.0 – LW PLA Orange is a highly specialized 3D printing filament by Prusa, designed for creating extremely lightweight models. Unlike standard PLA, this filament is infused with special foaming agents that activate during heating, significantly increasing the material's volume. This results in a printed part with a much lower density than conventional PLA objects. The vibrant Orange shade is ideal for eye-catching modeling projects, especially in aviation and drone construction, where every gram counts. The material remains robust enough to withstand structural loads and offers good surface finish quality. Recommended print settings include a nozzle temperature of 220–240°C and a heated bed at 50–60°C. A higher extrusion temperature is necessary to promote foaming, while a slower print speed of 30–50 mm/s is recommended for optimal results. It is important to clean the nozzle thoroughly after printing, as residues from the foaming agent can affect its performance. POLYLIGHT is excellent for RC models, cosplay props, decorations, and lightweight functional parts. Strengths include its low density, ease of use, and high mechanical strength relative to weight. Limitations include the need for adjusted print settings and the fact that the filament is not suitable for temperature-sensitive applications, as PLA has a low glass transition temperature.
