PETGPrusa
Prusament PETG Carbon Fiber Black is a premium 3D printing filament developed by reinforcing standard PETG with carbon fibers. This composite material combines the excellent chemical resistance and toughness of PETG with the enhanced stiffness and dimensional stability provided by carbon fibers. The result is a filament that offers a high stiffness modulus, low weight, and a distinctive matte black finish with a smooth surface texture. Each spool is equipped with NFC technology, allowing for seamless data transfer and filament tracking with compatible Prusa printers. This filament is perfect for functional prototypes, engineering parts, and mechanical applications that require rigidity, such as drone frames, RC car parts, gears, and robust casings. Due to the abrasive nature of the carbon fibers, it is essential to use a hardened steel nozzle to prevent rapid wear and tear on brass nozzles. Recommended printing settings include a nozzle temperature between 255 °C and 265 °C, and a bed temperature between 75 °C and 85 °C. While an enclosure is beneficial for large parts to minimize warping, PETG is generally easier to print than ABS. Like all Prusament filaments, this carbon fiber composite is manufactured with high precision, maintaining a diameter tolerance of ±0.03 mm for reliable and consistent extrusion.

Print TemperatureRecommended nozzle temperature range. Stay within range for best layer adhesion and surface quality
255°C - 265°C
Bed TemperatureHeated bed temperature to prevent warping. Some materials like PLA can print without a heated bed
75°C - 85°C
Diameter1.75mm is standard, 2.85mm for some printers
1.75 mm
Spool WeightNet weight of filament on the spool. Standard spools are 1kg (1000g)
1000g
DensityMaterial density affects part weight. Higher density = heavier prints for the same volume
1.27 g/cm³
ReinforcementFiber reinforcement (Carbon/Glass/Kevlar) adds strength and stiffness but increases nozzle wear — use a hardened steel nozzle
