PLAKimya
Kimya PLA-HI (polylactide, from the English term polylactic acid) is a 3D printing filament that is a modified version of PLA. Thanks to an additive incorporated during production, the material has four times the impact resistance of standard PLA. The filament is a lightweight and durable thermoplastic that offers a high-quality alternative to other plastics traditionally used in 3D printing (standard PLA or ABS). PLA-HI combines the ease of processing of PLA with the mechanical properties of ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer). Kimya PLA-HI is an easy-to-print material. The tight tolerances of the filament diameter prevent the nozzle from clogging during printing. A heated print bed is not strictly necessary. The material also excels in terms of mechanical properties. The filament offers high dimensional stability and a high-quality, lustrous surface finish, making post-processing unnecessary for visually flawless results. PLA-HI is more impact-resistant than ABS without complicating the printing process. Targeted formulation modifications also give the plastic a tensile modulus and elongation percentage comparable to that of ABS. Furthermore, the filament spools for this material are made from 100% recycled ink cartridges. The printing material itself is derived from natural materials such as cornstarch or cane sugar. High-Impact PLA is ideal for producing functional prototypes or replacement parts, for model making, architectural models, and most everyday applications. Since the material is easy to print, it is very popular for many common prints.

Print TemperatureRecommended nozzle temperature range. Stay within range for best layer adhesion and surface quality
200°C - 200°C
Bed TemperatureHeated bed temperature to prevent warping. Some materials like PLA can print without a heated bed
60°C - 60°C
Diameter1.75mm is standard, 2.85mm for some printers
1.75 mm
Spool WeightNet weight of filament on the spool. Standard spools are 1kg (1000g)
