PolyMax Tough PLA from Polymaker is the ideal solution for users who want to combine the ease of printing of standard PLA with the mechanical durability of engineering plastics. This filament, available in black, has been specifically developed to surpass the toughness and impact strength of conventional PLA materials without compromising print stability. Thanks to proprietary Nano-Reinforcement technology, PolyMax Tough PLA offers high impact resistance, making it an excellent choice for functional prototypes and robust tools. The filament is easy to print and is less prone to warping or shrinking compared to ABS or Nylon. It is recommended to use a printing temperature between 210°C and 230°C and a heated print bed of 25°C to 60°C. The material is perfect for applications requiring strength, such as enclosures, fasteners, toys, and mechanical parts. Strengths include high surface quality, low moisture absorption, and the fact that it is biodegradable. A limitation is that it is not as heat-resistant as ABS or PETG, making it unsuitable for high-temperature environments.
