Prusament PP Carbon Fiber Black is a high-quality 3D printing filament based on polypropylene (PP), reinforced with fine carbon fibers. This combination blends PP's excellent chemical resistance and toughness with the enhanced stiffness and dimensional stability provided by carbon fiber reinforcement. The result is a lightweight, extremely durable material suitable for functional parts, enclosures, and applications in harsh environments. Thanks to the carbon fibers, the material exhibits significantly improved dimensional accuracy and is less prone to warping than unreinforced PP. It is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including acids and alkalis, making it an excellent choice for lab equipment or containers. For optimal print results, a bed temperature range of 85–100 °C is recommended to ensure good adhesion, ideally on a PEI or glass print bed. The use of a hardened steel extruder or a carbide nozzle is also recommended, as the abrasive fibers can clog standard brass nozzles. While the material is robust, it requires careful cooling settings; typically, a part cooling fan is advisable to stabilize overhangs. Prusament PP Carbon Fiber Black is perfect for engineers and hobbyists needing a durable, chemically resistant material that still offers the mechanical benefits of fiber reinforcement.

Print TemperatureRecommended nozzle temperature range. Stay within range for best layer adhesion and surface quality
240°C - 260°C
Bed TemperatureHeated bed temperature to prevent warping. Some materials like PLA can print without a heated bed
85°C - 100°C
Diameter1.75mm is standard, 2.85mm for some printers
1.75 mm
Spool WeightNet weight of filament on the spool. Standard spools are 1kg (1000g)
650g
DensityMaterial density affects part weight. Higher density = heavier prints for the same volume
1.04 g/cm³
ReinforcementFiber reinforcement (Carbon/Glass/Kevlar) adds strength and stiffness but increases nozzle wear — use a hardened steel nozzle
