Prusament PP Carbon Fiber Black is a high-performance polypropylene-based filament reinforced with carbon fibers. This combination combines PP's chemical resistance and toughness with the enhanced stiffness and dimensional stability provided by the fibers. The material is ideal for functional parts that need to withstand mechanical stress while remaining lightweight. Thanks to the carbon fibers, the filament is less prone to warping than pure PP, making the printing process easier. For best results, a heated enclosure is recommended to further minimize shrinkage. The recommended nozzle temperature is between 240 and 260 °C, while the print bed should be set to 100 to 110 °C. Since PP has a very smooth surface, the use of an adhesive agent such as dimethyl silicone oil or PP spray on the print bed is essential. Suitable applications include robust enclosures, mechanical joints, tool handles, and automotive components. Please note that this material requires a hardened nozzle due to the abrasive fibers and is not suitable for food contact.
